IA Management Level I
IA
Management Level I personnel are responsible for
implementation and operation of a DoD IA or system
component within their Computing Environment (CE).
They ensure that IA related Information Systems are
functional and secure within the CE.
Computing Environment (CE): (ref: CNSSI 4009)
workstation or server (host) and its operating
system, peripherals and applications.
IA Management
Level II
IA
Management Level II personnel are responsible for
the IA program of an IA within the Network
Environment (NE). Personnel in these positions
perform a variety of security related tasks,
including the development and implementation of
system information security standards and
procedures. They ensure that Information Systems are
functional and secure within the Network
Environment.
IA Management
Level III
IA
Management Level III personnel are responsible for
ensuring that an enclave's Information Systems are
functional and secure. They determine the enclave's
long-term IA system needs and acquisition
requirements to accomplish operational objectives.
They also develop and implement security standards
and procedures through the DoD certification and
accreditation process.
Enclave: Collection of computing environments
connected by one or more internal networks under the
control of a single authority and security policy
including personnel and physical security.
